Our veterinary team takes a thorough, evidence-based approach, ensuring adequate time for examination, discussion, and care planning.

EMERGENCY CONSULTATIONS
Emergency consultations are designed for pets requiring urgent or critical veterinary care. These appointments prioritise rapid assessment, stabilisation, diagnostic planning, and treatment initiation. As a fully equipped veterinary hospital, cases are triaged according to medical urgency to ensure patients with the most critical needs receive immediate attention.

EMERGENCY NURSE TRIAGE
Upon presentation, your pet will be assessed by a highly trained veterinary nurse as part of our hospital triage process. This allows for prompt identification of life-threatening or urgent conditions and ensures timely initiation of care. Based on this assessment, your pet may be stabilised, monitored, or escalated immediately to a veterinarian for further examination and treatment. In this case when emergency care is not needed, the team will make recommendations on when would be appropriate to return for a routine consultation with a veterinarian.

BEHAVIOURAL CONSULTATIONS
Are you experiencing behaviour problems with your cat or dog?
Pet owners can often become frustrated and discouraged by their pet's unacceptable behaviour. Unfortunately, improper dealing with the situation can lead to your pet's behaviour problems becoming worse.
Examples of behavioural problems;
-
Aggression towards other animals
-
Aggression towards people
-
Canine or feline rivalry in the home
-
House soiling
-
Separation anxiety
-
Fear-based behaviours
-
Destructive behaviours
-
Compulsive behaviours
-
Excessive vocalization
-

Because animals are all individuals, like us, each behavioural case usually requires a different approach to eliminate the inappropriate activities. With the correct training methods and advice, many problems can be managed and bad behaviours eliminated. We aim to work with you to regain a healthy relationship with your pet.
Behaviour consultations are usually conducted with Dr Annabel Shepherd.

PUPPY & KITTEN CONSULTATIONS
Bringing a new puppy or kitten into the family is often a very exciting and anticipated event. Not many people stop to consider that it can also be quite a stressful affair. There is a large amount of information that you need to absorb and this can be overwhelming and confusing for many new pet owners.
Luckily, we're here to lend a hand. We have been working with puppies, kittens and their owners for many years.

Puppies:
The puppy consultation is a session intended to answer many of the questions that new owners may have about puppy health care, behaviour and training. We will help you resolve behaviour issues common in puppies like biting, chewing, jumping up, house training, alone-time training, crate training, ankle grabbing and many others. Ultimately, this session will help you better understand your puppy and common puppy behaviours.
The puppy consult will help you and your new pup to put all four paws in the right direction and set you both up for a good relationship and happy life together.

Kittens:
The kitten consultation, like the puppy consult, is a session intended to answer many of the questions new owners have about their new kitten. We will help with planning your new kitten's healthcare regime, nutrition, toilet training and common feline behaviours. This session is aimed at giving you and your new furry friend the best possible start for your life together.
