EAR INFECTIONS

Ear infections are extremely common in dogs, and are often very painful. Your pet may show behavioural changes, shy away from being petted on their head, or scratch at their ear more than usual. When there is moisture in their environment, ear infections become more common.

Common symptoms include:

· Excessive scratching

· Shaking their head

· Tenderness in the area

· Red or inflamed skin on the underside of the ear

· Blocked ear canal with a cauliflower-like appearance

If you suspect your dog has an ear infection, make an appointment with your pet's veterinarian as soon as possible. They may prescribe ear drops, and a pain management medication.
